Respect for Learning, Respect for All

School Council Members Needed

From Amy Clouter, Principal:

An important community group at Coolidge is our School Council. The School Council is composed of teachers, parents and the principal. Under state law, every public school must have a group that reviews school performance data and makes an annual School Improvement Plan. This year I’ll need three new parent representatives on our Council–last year’s members moved on with their fourth grade students. Parents typically serve for two years, which means attending 1-2 meetings per month. Please consider serving in this important role. Any parent can nominate himself or herself for the Council; all you need do if you’re interested is draft a short (3-5 sentence) blurb of introduction- I’ll make these statements into a ballot to be distributed to the community next week. For those who are considering this, hold October 1 in your calendars, that’s when all Councils meet for the first time.
